We’re proud to share the impact of our Connect to Nature Campus Beautification Project at Federal Way Public Academy (FWPA)—a growing collaboration between The Shyan Selah Foundation, FWPA’s Gardening Club, and the Port of Seattle’s South King County Community Impact Fund.

With generous support from the Port of Seattle, our Connect to Nature initiative is focused on enhancing public school grounds while empowering youth to connect with the environment in tangible, transformative ways. This spring, our team joined hands with students from FWPA’s Gardening Club to plant rhododendrons, azaleas, and even a new Douglas Fir tree at the front of the school—adding beauty, shade, and Pacific Northwest pride to the campus.
Together, we’re not just planting flowers—we’re planting purpose. Through this partnership, students gain hands-on experience in landscape design, environmental stewardship, and the importance of creating shared green spaces for the community to enjoy.
Stay tuned as we continue to grow this project and bring more beauty and opportunity to South King County.
