The Shyan Selah Foundation Receives $20,000 Grant from Puyallup Tribe Charity Trust Board towards its Artist Workshop

On March 24, 2025, The Shyan Selah Foundation proudly received a generous $20,000 grant from the Puyallup Tribe of Indians Charity Trust Board, a powerful step forward in the Foundation’s mission to inspire and uplift youth through the arts. In a celebratory photo captured at the award ceremony, SSF Founder Shyan Selah and Vice President Candice Richardson stand alongside members of the Puyallup Tribal Council, united in a shared vision of empowering the next generation.

This funding will directly support special Artist Workshop sessions which will allow it to expand its program to tribal youth in the Puyallup community. The Artist Workshop is SSF’s educational series dedicated to demystifying the entertainment industry and providing practical knowledge to aspiring artists, entrepreneurs, and professionals. By focusing on the intersection of art and business, the program offers participants a comprehensive understanding of various roles and careers within entertainment sectors such as music, film, television, professional sports, and fashion. These sessions aim to equip participants with practical skills and insights, fostering both artistic expression and entrepreneurial acumen.

“We are deeply honored to receive this contribution from the Puyallup Tribe,” said Shyan Selah. “It’s more than just a grant—it’s the beginning of a partnership rooted in the spirit of legacy, creativity, and opportunity. The role that the Puyallup Tribe plays in assisting the well being of our community is necessary and awe inspiring. We’re excited to continue The Artist Workshop experience in friendship with our Native brothers and sisters from the Puyallup Tribe.”

The collaboration with the Puyallup Tribe underscores a shared commitment to empowering tribal youth through education and cultural enrichment. By integrating the Artist Workshop’s curriculum with the unique heritage of the Puyallup community, the program seeks to inspire participants to explore creative careers while honoring their cultural roots.
